1 oz Jose Cuervo® Tradicional® Plata Tequila*
.75 oz Red Wine Syrup*
.25 oz Grapefruit juice
2 oz Sparkling wine
1 oz Soda water
Garnish: Grapefruit twist and 2 slices of strawberry
Add all of the ingredients to a wine glass filled with ice. Stir, and garnish with a grapefruit twist and two strawberry slices.
Add red wine to a small pot along with sugar, orange juice, and orange peels. Bring up to a boil, stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Reduce heat to a low simmer and let wine reduce uncovered for about 25 minutes, stirring occasionally. Once reduced to desired thickness, remove from heat, let cool before using.
This cocktail finds a way to repurpose red wine that has already oxidized, or will soon, a common scenario in many restaurant bars.
