About Britt

Britt is the son of legendary shaper Al Merrick and works at one of the most well-known surf companies in the world, Channel Island Surfboards. The pedigree of surfers that have ridden a “CI Board” span from 11-time World Champion Kelly Slater to the top free-surfer in the world, Dane Reynolds. Britt is obsessed with pushing the progression of the sport forward through surfboard design and materials, while also being pro-active in using sustainable materials to accomplish that. He’s currently shaping for top men and women surfers competing on the Championship tour.
