Agave Cooler


2 oz Jose Cuervo® Tradicional® Plata Tequila*

1 oz Lemon Cordial*

3-4 Basil Leaves 

2 oz Ginger beer

Garnish: Basil leaf


Add all of the ingredients, except the ginger beer, to a shaker and fill with ice. Shake, and strain into a Highball glass filled with fresh ice. Top with ginger beer. 


Peel lemons, add to a jar, Tupperware, or ziplock bag along with sugar. Muddle, then seal the container and let sit for at least 8 hours until the sugar is mostly dissolved. Juice lemons, add to mixture. Shake until sugar is fully dissolved. Strain. **To extend shelf life, add .25 tsp Tequila. Seal and keep refrigerated for up to 2 weeks. Sugar soaked lemon peels can be dehydrated and used for garnish. 

  • Ingredients for Bar: 12 lemons, 24 oz sugar. Yield: 1 qt
  • Ingredients for Home: 4 lemons, 1 cup sugar. Yield: 1.25 cups


Lemon Cordial has a longer shelf life than fresh juice and utilizes both the skin & the juice of the lemon, reducing waste two-fold. This cocktail should also be served in a Highball glass with the agave straw!
