Turning recycled Jose Cuervo agave fiber into sustainable products for the community.
GOING BEYOND TEQUILA
30 years ago, Cuervo set out on a mission to find more creative uses for agave, beyond tequila. We called the initiative, The Agave Project – a commitment to turning recycled agave fiber into sustainable products for our community.
Our goal is to maintain a long-standing commitment to the land and people of Tequila and Mexico by harnessing the potential of its lifeblood – the agave plant.
WE CONSTANTLY WORK TO DEVELOP NEW AGAVE-BASED PRODUCTS FOR A BETTER WORLD
A SUSTAINABLE EXPERIENCE FOR TEQUILA LOVERS
Imagine an immersive experience centered around friendship, food, music, cocktails and sustainability. Cuervo is doing just that through the Agave Bar pop-up honoring our commitment to a more sustainable future of tequila production. Highlighting the beloved agave plant and authentic Mexican culture, our sustainable Agave Bar continues to pop-up across the Country. Salud to sustainability!
Plastic straws are so 1950. So we created the first-of-its-kind, 100% biodegradable, agave straw – which decomposes up to 200x faster than traditional ones. Now you can sip your marg in style AND sustainably.
Two legends dreamt up an idea to build a guitar out of a radical new material. Featuring a pure agave body, 21-fret neck, and fingerboard – this two-piece ’56 Stratocaster remains true to rock tradition with a wildly sustainable sound.
Jose Cuervo teamed up with legendary surfboard shaper Gary Linden to create a board completely sculpted from cooked agave leaves. Not only did we send the sport into a new era of sustainability, but surfers looked fly riding waves.
